REUNION

Missing Dog Reunited With Owner After 220 Days At Ohio Shelter

  1. Animal Friends Humane Society in Hamilton, Ohio took in the stray dog with a badly cut leg in November 2025.
  2. The shelter nursed him through treatment and a foster stay, and staff nicknamed him Flash while he waited about 220 days for a home.
  3. His real owner recognized him from a photo the shelter posted on social media and messaged the team, leading to a reunion where the dog, actually named Timber, got his old name and owner back.

A dog that spent more than eight months at Animal Friends Humane Society in Hamilton, Ohio has been reunited with his owner, who spotted him in a photo the shelter shared online.

Why it matters

The shelter is using Timber's story to remind owners that microchipping and keeping contact info current is what makes reunions like this possible after a pet goes missing for months.

What to watch

Animal Friends Humane Society says it will keep sharing photos of long-stay animals on social media in hopes of finding more owners and adopters.
